Commentary
This coin, along with BZC.1956.23.2449, was omitted from DOC 1 because it was thought to be from the reign of Herakleios. Grierson omitted them from DOC 2 because it seemed unreasonable to create a class for Herakleios on the basis of two quite illegible coins. He was uncertain where they really belonged. Hahn (MIBEC 152, no. 74A) gives them to Maurice. Like half folles, pentanummia bear no mint mark and are attributed on a stylistic basis.
Compare to DOC 1:319, no. 68e.
