Commentary
This coin is a Tmutarakan base silver imitation of a Byzantine silver miliaresion. The inscription on the reverse would have been copied from a miliaresion of John I Tzimiskes; it is a hybrid type mule. Compare to K. Golenko, “Die Tamaner Gruppe der Nachahmungen byzantinischer Miliarensia.”
