Michael Skleros, protoproedros (eleventh century, second half)

Obverse

The damage to the seal prevents a precise identification of this scene. At first sight, it appears to be a Crucifixion scene, but seems instead to be a representation of St Symeon Stylites, if the figure in the middle is in fact standing on a pillar. The epigraphy beside the standing figure at left is unclear: κ|ι|τ||υ. The figure at right cannot be identified. Border of dots.

Reverse

Inscription of five lines (presumably beginning with a cross). Border of dots.
