Saint George, help George, protospatharios, epi tou Chrysotriklinou and grand kourator of the Imperial Monastery.
Commentary
In his unpublished catalogue of the Shaw collection, Laurent gave a very different reading of this inscription, identifying the owner as protospatharios, epi tou Hippodromou and grand chartoularios. Our reading is based on that found on what appears to be a related seal, cited in this entry.
