Commentary
This is probably the well-known Anastasios who was elevated to the throne of Herakleia by Patriarch Tryphon (927-931; cf. Darrouzès-Westerink, Daphnopatès, 12) and died perhaps in 946 (Theophanes Cont., 439). He had a turbulent career outlined by Laurent, Corpus V/1, 216 and Asdracha, Thrace orientale, 270.
