Translation
... σκέποις οἰκέτῃ. Θεοτόκε βοήθη τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Νικολάῳ.
... may you protect your servant. Mother of God, help your servant Nicholas.
Commentary
We read the owner's name as Nicholas on the basis of the ΚΟΛ visible in the lower left of the reverse inscription. It seems likely that the obverse contained a metrical inscription concluding with the five-syllable hemistich σκέποις οἰκέτῃ.
