Commentary
Nakoleia (modern Seyitgazi, at 38 km southwest of Eski Şehir) was bishopric of Synada, then archbishopric (ninth century), then metropolis (before 1066). It also had some administrative importance as shows the existence of a dioikesis named after the city. See Zgusta, 418; Phrygien und Pisidien, 344-46; ODB II, 1434.
