Commentary
The resolutions of the two monograms of this seal are by no means certain. Zacos is likely incorrect in his assertion that this is the seal of Epiphanes patrikios (Ἐπιφάνου πατρικίου), as the obverse has no υ and the ο must be found within the φ, while the reverse lacks a τ. The obverse almost assuredly resolves instead to the female name Ἐπιφανίας, while the reserve seems to read Κάπρου/Κάρπου. The implication from these joined male and female names is likely that of a husband and wife, although this would be irregular.
