Commentary

The reading of the owner's family name is not entirely certain. It does, however, provide the required five syllables to form a dodecasyllabic inscription which should be added to the corpus of metrical seals assembled by Wassiliou-Seibt, Corpus der byzantinischen Siegel mit metrischen Legenden.
