Translation

Ξηρὸν τὸν ὑπέρτιμον ἡ σφραγὶς φέρει, ἡ δ´αὖ γραφὴ καὶ κλῆσιν αὐτοῦ μηνύει.

The seal presents Xeros, hypertimos; the letter in turn discloses his name.

Commentary

The Christian name of the owner remains unknown; the metrical verse informs us that the document closed by the seal furnishes his full identity.
