The Virgin orans. Sigla: ̣̅ΘΥ̅ : Μή(τη)ρ Θ(εο)ῦ. Border of dots.

Commentary

Christ’s portrait recalls those found on coins of Michael VI (1056-1057) through to Alexios I Komnenos' pre-reform coinage (1081-1092) (See DOC 3:2, 798-840, pls. 66-70 and DOC 4:1, 202-214 and 4:2, pls. 1 and 2).
