Bust of John the Baptist holding a staff cross and offering a blessing. Traces of an inscription on either side: |ι̅|ο|ο : ὁ ἅ(γιος) Ἰω(άννης) ὁ Πρό(δρομος). Border of thick dots.

Inscription of four lines (presumably beginning with a cross). Border of dots.

Commentary

The owner seems to have been active in the second quarter of the eleventh century. Another seal bearing his name attests him as spatharios and ek prosopou. See PBW : Ioannes 20527.
