Obverse

The Virgin standing between two cypress trees. Details indistinct. Within concentric line borders, a circular inscription along the circumference, beginning at the top:

.εοτοκεβοη...τω....λω

[Θ]εοτόκε βοή[θει] τῷ [σῷ δού]λῳ

Reverse

In the field, an inscription of five lines, the continuation of the circular inscription which runs along the circumference, between concentric borders of dots.

Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Ἰωάννῃ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ, ὑπάτῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου.
