Commentary
This Constantine Anzas is attested by five seals: three at Dumbarton Oaks (the present specimen, BZS.1947.2.664, and BZS.1955.1.2925), one in Istanbul (no. 168a-40, published in J.-C. Cheynet, T. Gökyıldırım, and V. Bulgurlu, Les sceaux byzantins du Musée archéologique d’Istanbul, no. 2.17), and one at the Bibliotheque nationale, Paris (BnF 393). This last, whose inscription lacks the final line, is published by Laurent, Corpus 2: no. 381 (with photo of this specimen), and dated to the eleventh century.
