Jan de Graaff, Oregon Bulb Farms, to Beatrix Farrand, July 20, 1942 discussing bulbs for the National Gallery of Art; Beatrix Farrand's cottage in Santa Barbara, California, a bulb substitution to consider for one not available, and the daffodils planted at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Wm. Craig of Weymouth, owner of a William N. Craig nursery, reported the Ixiolirion Pallasii bulbs would be worth trying out as the variety does well in north climate of Vermont.
