Verses 548 to 582 from the translation by Glanville Downey, November 3, 1945. MS.BZ.019-03-01-050.
Paul Underwood’s manuscript refers to the verses on this page (see here). Downey was responsible for assembling and translating the crucial texts by the Rhodian and Nicholas Mesarites for the three-part publication on the church of the Holy Apostles. He worked closely with Underwood, in order to make sense of the difficult passages of the poem and to clarify their architectural implications. Unlike the rest of the proposed Holy Apostles publication, Downey managed to publish his Mesarites translation separately in 1957. However, his translation of the text of the Rhodian only survives in draft form.
